As a student with Shelo

Isaac has been in education with Shelo since 2010 when he was 10 years old. Since he started at Care Centre Primary School, he’s been a hard working student. progressing every year to finish primary school in 2017.

He then attended Bududa Comprehensive High School studying subjects such as History, Geography, Mathematics, Agriculture and sciences, his highest grades being in Mathematics, which has ultimately helped shape his chosen subject in professional education at BLC.

Katamwa Isaac is the seventh child in his family. His father is 61 and his mother is 54. All 9 family members live in their mud house with an iron sheet roof. Isaac has no mattress, and shares a bedroom and bedding with his brother

The family members grow crops like bananas, beans and maize as their source of income. They also have an avocado tree in the compound. They can afford to eat meals twice a day.

Isaac’s professional education with Path To Prosper

In 2021 Isaac was one of the first students to enroll in the new Path To Prosper programme. He’s chosen to take a mechanics course at BLC, and although the school is an hour and a half walk, he’s expressed his excitement in taking part of this opportunity.

We receive monthly reports on Issac's well-being and education. Through all of his school reports he showed great aptitude in his practical classes particularly.

As part of the Path to Prosper support we supplied him with all the tools he needed to make the most of the education and meant he was able to practice in his own time in the schools mechanics shop. He will keep these tools after he graduates and it will enable Issac to get started earing money quickly.

Part of his course included industrial training, which Issac took part in and developed brilliant contacts in the local community.

Issac graduated in 2022 with a grade of B+ in Motor Vehicle Mechanic Occupation, with a pass in industry training module. He was thrilled and we wish him all the best in his next steps!

During our 2025 visit, we met with Issac. He was an alumnus student who had graduated successfully over a year ago. He was extremely gracious and thanked P2P and the donors for all their support.

He shared about his job, how he is gaining confidence, and how his customer base is increasing as he fixes many bikes.

While we were talking, he received a phone call about a new job and wanted to take us along to show us his work! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to travel with him, but his excitement and passion were evident.

He’s earning money and can afford his own room and food.

“Thank you so much for supporting Isaac at Bududa vocational Academy.”
